Twelve‐membered rings with alternate iron and oxygen atoms occur in Na 14 [Fe 6 O 16 ]. Fe is surrounded almost tetrahedrally by O, and along [010] two thirds of the FeO 4 tetrahedra are coupled in the form of a “Dreier‐Doppelkette”.
