“Heteroenzyme” is the term applied to proteins of different origin that differ in their physical, chemical, and biochemical properties, but have the same biological action. Enzymes that have the same origin, and consist of very similar, but distinguishable proteins have been named “isozymes” [*]; they may also be designated as “multiple forms.”
