Ein polares gemischtes Oxyhalogenid , Pb 18 O 8 Cl 15 I 5 , welches das erste synthetische Metalloxyhalogenid darstellt, das sowohl Cl − als auch I − enthält und zwei Arten von Oxo‐zentrierten Pb–O‐Einheiten von unterschiedlicher Dimensionalität aufweist, wird in der Zuschrift von K. M. Ok et al. auf S. 20503 vorgestellt. Charakterisierungen der zentimetergroßen Einkristalle zeigen, dass Pb 18 O 8 Cl 15 I 5 alle rigorosen Kriterien für hochleistungsfähige IR‐NLO‐Materialien erfüllt.
