Abstract Described herein is a concise total synthesis of the highly potent nicotinic acetylcholine receptor ligand hosieine A in racemic and enantioenriched forms. The synthesis requires only seven steps and features a telescoped reaction sequence initiated by a gold‐catalyzed Rautenstrauch reaction.
