Eingeebnete Pyramide : Die stufenweise Chloridabstraktion aus [Cp*BCl 2 (IMes)] ergibt das Dikation [Cp*B(IMes)] 2+ , dessen zweifach substituiertes, linear umgebenes B 2+ ‐Zentrum in einem pentagonal‐pyramidalen [C 5 B] 2+ ‐Cluster stabilisiert ist. Die Verbindung reagiert mit Superhydrid unter Bildung des Borabenzols [C 5 Me 5 B(IMes)], dessen Boratom ein N‐heterocyclisches Carben trägt.
