Unter milden Bedingungen überführt die hoch regio‐ und diastereoselektive Titelreaktion (siehe Schema; PG=Schutzgruppe, DiPPF=1,1′‐Bis(diisopropylphosphanyl)ferrocen) ein breites Spektrum Glycal‐abgeleiteter γ‐Ketoester komplett β‐selektiv in C‐Glycoside. Die Methode wurde in einer kurzen formalen Synthese von Aspergillid A genutzt.
