Präzise Strukturinformation : Isolierte, gasförmige Acetylsalicylsäure wurde zum ersten Mal mit hochauflösender Spektroskopie untersucht. Festes Aspirin wurde mittels Laserablation verdampft, in einem Überschallstrahl expandiert und mit Fourier‐Transform‐Mikrowellenspektroskopie untersucht (siehe Bild). Zwei unterschiedliche Strukturen konnten dem Rotationsspektrum zugeordnet werden.
