Der selektive Dipeptidylpeptidase‐IV‐Inhibitor ABT‐341 wurde mithilfe einer ununterbrochenen Folge von Reaktionen in ausgezeichneter Ausbeute und mit hervorragender Diastereo‐ und Enantioselektivität synthetisiert. Y. Hayashi et al. beschreiben in der Zuschrift auf S. 2876 ff. die durch einen Diphenylprolinylsilylether vermittelte Abfolge aus asymmetrischer Michael‐Reaktion, Domino‐Michael/Horner‐Wadsworth‐Emmons‐Reaktion in Kombination mit einer Retro‐Aldolreaktion, basenkatalysierter Isomerisierung, Amidbildung und Reduktion der Nitrogruppe zu einem Amin.
