Mit Dimethylphosphonat ließen sich zahlreiche konjugierte und nichtkonjugierte Aldehyde in Gegenwart des chiralen Aluminium‐Salalen‐Komplexes 1 zu α‐Hydroxyphosphonaten mit 93–98 %  ee hydrophosphonylieren (siehe Schema).
