Enders' N‐heterocyclisches Carben (NHC) dehydriert den Ammoniak‐Boran‐Komplex mit einer vergleichsweise niedrigen Aktivierungsbarriere zu NH 2 BH 2 und NHC‐(H) 2 . Ein Nickel‐NHC‐Katalysator im Reaktionsmedium zersetzt das gebildete NHC‐(H) 2 in H 2 und freies NHC, das wiederum Ammoniak‐Boran‐Komplex dehydrieren kann.
