Meta ‐ , Meta‐ , Metallierung ! Toluol kann durch Dimetallbasen mit aktiven Me 3 SiCH 2 ‐Liganden direkt an der 3‐ und 5‐Position dimanganiert oder dimagnesiert werden (siehe Schema, blau). Dagegen resultieren n ‐Butylliganden in einer 2,5‐Metallierung (rot). tmp=2,2,6,6‐Tetramethylpiperidid.
