Das chirale hypervalente Iod(III) ‐Reagens 1 desaromatisiert Phenole mit hoher Enantioselektivität (siehe Schema). Dieses Ergebnis spricht stark für einen assoziativen Reaktionspfad bei Phenoloxidationen mit hypervalenten Iod(III)‐Verbindungen.
