Sulfid à la surprise : Die Analyse von rekombinanten Zn II ‐, Cd II ‐ und Cu I ‐MT‐Präparationen von Metallothioneinen (MTs) mehrerer Organismen belegt eindeutig, dass in fast allen physiologisch stabilen Zn II ‐MT‐ und Cd II ‐MT‐Komplexen, aber in keiner der Cu I ‐MT‐Spezies Sulfidionen vorliegen (siehe Bild). Die Merkmale der MT‐Komplexe korrelieren gut mit den für Zn II ‐ oder Cd II ‐γ‐Glutamylpeptiden aus Pflanzen und Hefe beschriebenen.
