Unter Einwirkung des supersauren Systems (CF 3 ) 3 BCO+HF gelingt die Synthese des Komplexes [Co(CO) 5 ][(CF 3 ) 3 BF] (siehe Struktur; blau O, schwarz C, cyan Co, rot F, hellbraun B) in einer Eintopfreaktion ausgehend von [Co 2 (CO) 8 ]. Als Oxidationsmittel kommt in situ gebildetes H 2 F $\rm{{{+\hfill \atop {\rm solv}.\hfill}}}$ in Betracht.
