Communication: For the first time thin layers of polymer‐metal complexes with crown ether ligands (see figure) have been applied as sensor materials for the detection of solvent vapors. The hydrophobic properties of these films enable the detection through conductivity measurements of even halogenated and aromatic hydrocarbons.
