Ein metallreiches Metallaboran (M/B>1) , die Titelverbindung 1 , entsteht in einem Schritt bei der Umsetzung des Cobaltkomplexes [CpCo(PPh 3 ) 2 ] mit BH 3 · THF. Dabei verschiebt sich eine Phenylgruppe von Phosphor zu Bor. Der neue Cluster [Cp 3 Co 3 PBPh 2 ] 1 ist isoelektronisch mit [Cp 3 Co 3 C 2 R 2 ]; aus den Strukturunterschieden wird auf polaren Charakter in 1 geschlossen (R = z.B. Me).
