The magnetic anisotropy of epitaxial, high‐index Fe( h 0 ℓ ) films is investigated. The strength of the in‐plane uniaxial magnetic anisotropy increases monotonically with the inclination angle φ between Fe(001) and Fe( h 0 l ). This increase is demonstrated to be caused by the cubic magnetocrystalline anisotropy and not by surface‐ or interface‐related effects.
