Abstract From generalized expressions for the entropy production the kinetic coefficients in the hydrodynamic equations are determined taking into account the mutual influence of the hydrodynamic motion and the fluctuations. Nonlinear effective and turbulent kinetic coefficients are obtained. The usefulness of the introduced coefficients is demonstrated for boundary layer and tube flows.
