The “background‐pomeron” component of the amplitude is studied in the framework of a dual model with square‐root trajectories. Double pomeron poles are used as vacuum exchanges in various channels, with exotic Regge poles dual to them. The expressions obtained are applied to describe total and differential cross sections of proton‐proton interaction in wid eenergy regions.
