The inelastic interaction free path of cosmic ray neutrons in copper was estimated by a multiplate cloud chamber operated by coincidence and anticoincidence technique of G EIGER counters and found to be 133 ± 24 g/cm 2 at 37.5 ± 2.1 GeV energy. The collision free path so obtained is in agreement with the expected value calculated after the optical model of the nucleus.
