In an earlier paper (I) we have developed a model for the description of the formation and the decay of compound systems. In this paper we perform the mathematical analysis of the wave function describing the compound elastically scattered particles (as obtained in I) necessary to establish the range of validity of an exponential decay law. The deviations from an exponential decay law following from our model appear to be not measurable.
