Incentive spirometry to prevent pulmonary complications after chest trauma: a retrospective observational study

Incentive spirometry early after chest trauma was not significantly associated with a lower incidence of pulmonary complications. No adverse events due to incentive spirometry were observed in patients with chest trauma. This study presents the first data on the effect of incentive spirometry on chest trauma with the risks of worsening respiratory failure.
