Cyclization of ynone‐oximes with a gold catalyst to obtain new 4H‐1,2‐oxazines was reported. During cyclization, alcohol derivatives are specifically and selectively added to the ring. Under the same reaction conditions, amine or thiol derivatives do not give a nucleophilic addition reaction. Alcohol derivatives such as cholesterol, phenol or iso ‐propanol were quickly added to the cyclic product. The proposed reaction mechanism was supported by performing control experiments, and DFT studies. More information can be found in the Communication by Volkan Taşdemir and Nurettin Menges.
