An annulation of phenyl(phenylethynyl)sulfane and N ‐methoxybenzamides through ruthenium C−H/N−O activation is reported. A wide variety of 4‐aryl‐3‐(aryl/alkylthio)isoquinolin‐1(2 H )‐one derivatives are obtained in moderate to good yields.
