Metal‐free oxidative intramolecular cyclizations have been developed for the synthesis of benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2‐ a ]pyridines. Remarkably fast reactions were observed when chloramine‐T was used as an oxidant with 1,1,1,3,3,3‐hexafluoro‐2‐propanol (HFIP) as the solvent, and it was noted that the reactions could be performed without using a base at room temperature.
