A visible‐light‐induced, manganese‐catalyzed protocol for the synthesis of 6‐ β ‐keto alkyl phenanthridines has been developed efficiently from 2‐biphenyl isocyanides and cyclopropanols in the absence of an external oxidant. This transformation is amenable to various isocyanides and tertiary cyclopropanols under catalytic amounts of Mn(acac) 3 (10 mol%).
