Synthetic Methods Heterocyclic compounds that contain indolin‐3‐one and tetrahydro‐4‐quinolone skeletons have received much attention because these motifs are widespread in naturally occurring bioactive materials. In their Communication on Page 130 ff. featured on the inside cover, Makoto Shimizu and co‐workers report an efficient method for the preparation of these heterocycles by reductive cyclization or 1,3‐aza‐Brook rearrangements/cyclization processes with α‐imino esters. The reversal of polarity (N‐versus the normal C‐addition) of α‐imino esters is noteworthy.
