Flavones are abundant in numerous naturally occurring products and have been shown to have a variety of biological activities. In their Communication on page 47 ff., Sungwoo Hong and co‐workers. report facile oxidative cross‐coupling reactions of chromones with simple arenes by a palladium‐catalyzed twofold CH functionalization. This approach is a direct route for selective C2 arylation of chromones and permits the construction of a variety of flavones derivatives, which are privileged motifs in many biologically active compounds.
