Gold! Lactams were synthesized through a tandem oxidation process from amino alcohols by using polymer‐incarcerated gold or gold/cobalt nanoparticles with or without carbon black as catalysts and molecular oxygen as a terminal oxidant. This system offers an environmentally innocuous method for the preparation of lactams with only water as a side product.
