Highlights Communities have an obligation to support the citizenship of persons with mental illnesses. Citizenship includes recognition of the humanity, worth, and dignity of all persons and groups. Our citizenship framework includes individual and structural interventions to address citizenship. We contend that mental health providers are well positioned to support citizenship development.
