Correlation of critical properties and acentric factor of hydrocarbons and derivatives

The critical constants and acentric factor are generally required in thermodynamic calculations based on the principle of corresponding states. In this work, these properties of hydrocarbons and derivatives are correlated with the molecular weight, specific gravity, and normal boiling point. Properties of n‐alkanes are correlated with the molecular weight. Properties of other hydrocarbons and derivatives are expressed as perturbations from those of the n‐alkanes, and the perturbations are corrlated in terms of specific gravity and normal boiling point.
