Calculations for the high Peclet number, entrance region (Lévêquelike) packed bed, mass transfer coefficient using a sinusoidal periodically constricted tube model for the void structure of the bed are presented. An inverse cube root dependence of the mass transfer coefficient on the bed depth is predicted. This length dependence is anticipated only at very low Reynolds numbers. Calculations which assume a mixing region between successive periods are also presented. No bed length dependence is anticipated in these coefficients.
