Abstract Experimental data are presented to verify the numerical model discussed in Part I. The experimental techniques employed for recovering flow patterns and for point velocity measurement are described and justified. The measured reattachment lengths, the recorded flow patterns, and the developing axial velocity field all show excellent agreement with the model predictions.
