Miniature hydroclones were evaluated for use with thoria‐urania slurries being considered as fuels for one type of homogeneous nuclear reactor. In addition to extensive room temperature data on concentrating performance, the results of tests with thoria slurries at a pressure of 2,000 lb./sq. in. and temperatures up to 550°F. are given. The data correlation presented allows prediction of the concentrating performance of a given clone provided that the properties and particle size distribution of the slurry feed are known.
