Cover illustration. Nanoparticulate polymer brushes are a new class of surfactants and surface conditioning agents. Consisting of a large number of polymer chains emanating from a central core, these materials present opportunities for use as highly efficient, responsive emulsifiers and as switchable boundary lubrication agents. Their fundamental structure‐activity relationships and applications are just beginning to be explored. Image created by R.D. Tilton of Carnegie Mellon University. DOI 10.1002/aic.16427 .
