A noble metal‐free catalyst, Raney Ni, exhibited > 99% selectivity toward H 2 for hydrous hydrazine decomposition in basic solution at 30 ° C. The particle size of the initial Ni‐Al alloy and the concentration of additional alkali influenced the H 2 selectivity on Raney Ni catalysts. This convenient route provides great potential for industrial application of hydrous hydrazine as a promising hydrogen storage material. © 2013 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J , 59: 4297–4302, 2013
