A counter‐intuitive decanter level control structure was reported in an earlier article which the aqueous level controller had to use reverse action for stable control. The Aspen model used in this study was the simple Decanter model, which assumes that there are only two liquid phases and pressure remains constant. This article presents results when the alternative Flash3 model is used.
