In article number 2021, 2, e30, this review summarizes the recent advances in novel aerogels through the hybrid aggregation of inorganic nanomaterials and polymeric fibers for thermal insulation. The hybrid aerogels can provide multifunctional platforms with controllable microstructures, sufficient mechanical strength and flexibility, and customized functions for various thermal insulation scenarios.
