In article number 2001274 Y. Shirley Meng and co‐workers explore the potential for sodium‐ion batteries to enable inexpensive and ubiquitous grid storage. Matters regarding materials performance, cost, supply chain and environmental sustainability are discussed. This work provides directions to address the root scientific and engineering challenges for sodium‐ion batteries to support grid storage.
