Atomic layer deposition (ALD), owning to its capability of realizing atomic accuracy and perfect conformality on high aspect ratio structures, is being intensively employed to maximize the full advantages of nanostructured materials and to minimize their negative effects in different fields. As part of the special issue “Functional Nanostructuring for Efficient Energy Conversion and Storage”, in article number 1600468, Yong Lei and co‐workers present recent advancements of ALD application in energy‐related devices via synthesizing, modifying, or stabilizing their corresponding components.
