An energy efficient capacitive switch composed of a simple Al/BiFeO 3 /Si 3 N 4 /Si/Au structure is reported by You et al. in article number 1500352. The memcapacitive effect in this system can be stabilized by the polarization charge of the ferroelectric BiFeO 3 layer, which is sensitive to both the illumination intensity and wavelength. Thus, the device presented by the group possesses integrated memory and demodulation functions.
