The response of individual grain boundaries in polycrystalline ZnO nano‐ and microstructure platelets to visible light illumination is studied using scanning probe microscopy. The grain boundaries show enhanced photoconductivity even in the visible range of light below the band gap, suggesting that they can be potentially used as transparent conducting oxide electrodes.
