In article number 2100743, Dongsoo Yang, Seon Young Park, and Sang Yup Lee report the microbial production of proviolacein, prodeoxyviolacein, violacein, and deoxyviolacein as natural green, blue, navy, and purple colorants, in addition to astaxanthin, β‐carotene, and zeaxanthin known to be red, orange, and yellow colorants. Integration of systems metabolic engineering, cell morphology engineering, inner‐membrane and outer‐membrane vesicle formation, and fermentation optimization for enhanced production of all seven rainbow colorants are described.
