In article number 1800066 , Tae‐Hoon Yoon and co‐workers demonstrate a guest–host liquid crystal cell which can be switched between the transparent and opaque states by control of light absorption. It could be used as a self‐shading smart window for energy saving, which allows it to be seen through, even when it is darkened.
