The front cover picture , provided by Matthias Franzreb and Lothar Elling, and their co‐workers, illustrates the automated enzymatic synthesis of the non‐sulfated human natural killer cell‐1 (HNK‐1) glycan epitope. A cascade of compartmented magnetic enzyme beads (MEBs) in a microfluidic flow microreactor system resulted in a high‐yield glycan synthesis. Expanding the repertoire of MEBs for other glycosyltransferases and enzymes for nucleotide sugar synthesis has the potential for a fully automated and programmed enzymatic glycan synthesis.
