Abstract A palladium‐catalyzed reductive and carbonylative cyclization of ortho ‐iodo‐tethered methylenecyclopropanes (MCPs) using N ‐formylsaccharin as CO source has been developed, affording the desired indanone derivatives in moderate to good yields with high regio‐ and stereoselectivity and good functional group compatibility.
