Abstract A palladium‐catalyzed carbonylation procedure for the synthesis of benzosilinones from (2‐iodophenyl)hydrosilanes and terminal alkynes has been developed. With Pd(PPh 3 ) 4 as the catalyst and DABCO as the base, various benzosilinones were isolated in good to excellent yields with good functional group tolerance. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first example for the preparation of benzosilinones from terminal alkynes.
