The front cover picture , provided by Rai‐Shung Liu and co‐workers, illustrates recent progress to implement N‐ and O‐functionalization of alkynes with common N‐O containing species including nitrone, nitroso, nitro and other nitroxy derivatives. The reported reactions include the following three topics: (i) 1,2‐difunctionalizations, (ii) cyclizations and (iii) cycloaddition or annulation reactions. The review is organized according to the types of nucleophiles, followed by reactions of the types. Enantioselective functionalizations of alkynes with these nitroxy nucleophiles are included.
