The front cover picture , provided by Sandra Hübner, Vittorio Farina and Johannes G. de Vries, illustrates the conclusion of their review article on "Why Does Industry Not Use Immobilized Transition Metal Complexes as Catalysts?" Much effort has gone into the immobilization of homogeneous catalysts in an attempt to create a catalyst that is easily removed and that can be reused many times. The authors find that in practice the immobilized catalysts never achieve more turnovers than the homogeneous catalyst.
