A method for the selective synthesis of amidines by ring‐opening amination or of 7‐aminomethylbenzoxazoles via a novel three‐component‐coupling reaction (arene, dichloromethane and amine) from benzoxazoles and amines was developed. Amidines could be further converted into 2‐aminobenzoxazoles in high yield.
